CELIA SMITH

Celia is inspired by nature - people, plants and animals - to convey feelings and ideas, or depict poems and stories, often using animals as symbols. She also does, by commission, portraits of the ‘soul’ of people, which go beyond just physical features. In her series called, ‘Kansas Castles’ or landscapes from Kansas, she aims to capture the essence of what she sees. The same applies to her landscapes from Spain, England and Greece. Special features for this year’s ArtWalk will be a display of older paintings for which Celia will take bids from interested people, as well as a special price for her University of Kansas print, "KU Stories."
