Jake has long been interested in the architecture of natural forms or the physical manifestations of the patterns that connects forms together. He has drawn and sketched since he was a kid, without formal training, and mostly with pencil or pen and ink. Since moving back to Kansas after a decade away, he has been challenged by new ways to represent the prairie, and is exploring layers of nature and culture in acrylic paints.
