Kristin's art is inspired by views of and reactions to the environment. Combining color, expression, texture and form, she expresses spontaneous reactions to common events experienced in daily life. Kristin transforms these experiences into abstractions viewed from her own creative perspective.

Kristin personally hand sews each sequin and bead onto fabric using a needle and thread. Her technique was adapted from the Haitian textile art form of Drapo and her work reflects a fascination with time, people, places and objects. Kristin aims to show off the beauty in nature, as in a seemingly endless field of wheat, the calming blue of the Caribbean, or the fleeting light of the sun setting in the city. In her work, she likes to show contrast and color or just the pure texture of a subject while recording the stillness in ordinary moments.
