Libby is a native Kansan who has loved to draw and paint since childhood. In her first career as a substance abuse counselor, she found that art was a powerful healing agent for her clients, and subsequently obtained her Master's degree in Art Therapy. Libby is currently on the faculty of the graduate Art Therapy program at Emporia State University, Kansas. She is also the sole proprietor of Art & Insight, a personal art studio and gallery in west Lawrence where she also provides group and individual art therapy. Libby's paintings are primarily done in pastel, although she also enjoys working in acrylic, mixed media and watercolor. Most of her pieces are landscapes based on her own photographs of the undeveloped area around her home near Lake Perry, Kansas. She finds a never-ending source of inspiration there, for even a seemingly identical view changes with the light, the seasons and throughout the years.
