Anson is a Renaissance man: he writes, makes visual art and plays music. Many artisans choose an area of concentration; Anson did not and to him there is little difference between the arts, sciences and any other 'field' of study. According to Anson, "All of the arts are just different mediums to convey an emotion, philosophy, or concept. One of the most influential ideas on the arts in the 20th Century was Einstein's theory of relativity, which allowed artists to defy tradition by better conveying concepts in their art. Early man saw no division between art and everyday life; painting would have been seen in the same light as cooking. An idea can be helpful across many fields and it should not be ignored just because it does not come from one's own line of inquiry." Anson combines many fields of art to make a more inclusive art form with animation. To him, animation is a hybrid of multiple art forms - writing, music, drawing and acting - that can overcome limitations of other mediums.
