Sandy approaches painting in a spirit of mindfulness, using the process of painting as a meditative practice. Her acrylic and watercolor paintings feature bright, intense colors and reflect the joy and healing that she has experienced through her art. She often cuts painted pages into pieces and arranges them in smaller compositions that capture the unexpected patterns and beauty of life. These pieces may in turn be framed, made into note cards, or collected in hand-made books. Sandy is a University of Kansas Law Professor and is currently recycling discarded legal periodicals into a series of altered books.
