Sandy
approaches painting in the spirit of mindfulness, using the process of painting
as a meditative practice. Her acrylic and mixed-media works feature bright,
intense colors and reflect the joy and healing that she has experienced through
art. Her most recent work is done in transparent watercolors with colors that
reflect the physical landscape of New Mexico, where she lived before moving to
Kansas. Japanese lace paper and metallic accents add depth and texture to these
spiritual landscapes. Sandy is a University of Kansas Law Professor and has
recycled discarded legal periodicals into a series of altered books.
