Kelsey is a papermaker and printmaker. She majored in Art History at the Kansas City Art Institute where, three years ago, she took a papermaking class and quickly became fascinated with the medium. She then continued to study the ancient craft, learning and practicing for hours.

"While anyone can make a sheet of paper," Kelsey says, "becoming a papermaker takes, mostly, a desire. Papermakers spend hours every day dripping water into their boots, toting around five-gallon buckets of pulp, scrubbing pigments from under their nails or listening to the roar of a Hollander beater for hours." She likes the feeling of peeling off freshly dried sheets and seeing stacks of paper grow.

Kelsey uses her handmade paper to create useful products like cards and books, and sells blank sheets for other creative individuals to enjoy. She also sells popular seeded items, such as plantable postcards, seed bombs and seed faces.
