Artist Biographical Statement

Throughout his life, Justin has learned and wandered within the boundaries of his Midwestern homeland, observing the social and physical landscape of the surrounding region.   He finds inspiration in geography and history of the Midwest.  Social issues drive much of his work as well as influences from family, nature, and everyday life.  Justin graduated from the University of Kansas in 2005 with a B.F.A. in printmaking and resides in Lawrence with his wife and three daughters.  He works full time as an artist at his East Lawrence studio inside Art Emergency, and at home as a husband and father.  In Kansas, he continuously works to create a life rooted in art, family, and community.
