Retta paints in her studio in the country outside of Lawrence, Kansas while in town she teaches art in the Lawrence school district. Her dedication to and interaction with her students resonates in the fresh and unpretentious flavor of her work. While predominantly rooted in color, texture, pattern and surface, Retta's paintings strongly reflect her vitality and spirited approach toward life. Her ceramics carry the same flavor and fun as her paintings.
