Karla’s home, with
its hand-painted furniture, murals and faux finishes, has served as the
backdrop for many ‘how to’ project-idea articles she writes for several
national decorating magazines. While keeping its cottage charm, the renovated
farm house has doubled in size to accommodate a new studio featured in “Paint
Magic” this past summer along with tips on duplicating the room’s decorative
wall treatment and hand-painted shutters on the french doors. Besides being a
functional studio with space for teaching classes - if you are interested, let
her know! - and painting large pieces of furniture, the room makes for a pretty
showcase of Karla’s floral painted antiques as well as watercolors, painted
floor cloths and vintage style jewelry. The garden shed is also filled with
shabby chic treasures and will be available for ArtWalkers to browse in. To
accommodate crowds, Karla will be open for extended hours and all-day Friday. |
