Barbara’s work comprises mixed media on paper that combine pastels, paint and found objects. Her inspirations come from ancient cultures, nature and landforms; and her landscapes in pastels are inspired by the local area. Some of her work features natural objects such as stones, shells and bark that are held in place with linen cord while stitching is used as a design element. All of her works are original; that is, no reproductions of any work are available. If an image is repeated it is in the form of a fine-art print such as a monoprint or hand-pulled lithograph. For this year’s ArtWalk, Barbara is exhibiting a new series of regional landscapes. She is a recipient of many regional art competition awards.
