Lora’s
artwork captures moments of intrigue - from the
delight of watching a four-year old boy chasing a
butterfly to the bizarre sense of being watched under
the spotlight of a helicopter hovering above one’s
home at night. Her black and white clayboard drawings,
original postcards, mosaics, and mixed-media collages
are rich with visual texture and stories keenly told.
Jost, an educator who teaches about the process of
sketchbook/journaling at the Lawrence Arts Center and
other venues, is a writer, illustrator and artist. She
is an expert on Kansas murals and co-authored, with
muralist Dave Loewenstein, the book Kansas Murals: A
Traveler’s Guide, a fall-2006 publication of the
University Press of Kansas.
