Jen
began her academic studies in the art and design field
with an emphasis in ceramics in 1983, when her artwork
was primarily created in clay. Still holding onto her
love of texture and color, her work evolved into using
mixed media in 1988. Today, Jen's work uses layered
painted surfaces intertwined with compelling images.
Her work is designed to communicate differently to
each viewer, whether telling an entire story,
commenting on broader societal issues or simply
evoking emotions.
Jen lives in a little yellow bungalow - with her
daughter Adeline and husband David - in Lawrence near
the Kansas River, where she runs a business that
provides decorative interior painting and faux
finishes and has an art studio in her basement. Her
work has won awards in the annual Lawrence
Own-Your-Own show, and the Lawrence Art Guild's
Visions show and annual Art in the Park art fair. |
