YOU MISSED LAWRENCE ARTWALK 2006!

Celebrating our 12th anniversary this year, the Lawrence ArtWalk featured a two-day, free self-guided tour of Lawrence artists' studios and other art spaces, and showcased the fabulous art created by many of Douglas County's fine artists. Over 60 artists exhibited their incredible artwork at over 30 locations in and around Lawrence, and included three artists' groups featuring the work of over 20 member artists. Artists displayed work in a wide variety of mediums including ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, mixed media (2-D), painting, photography and sculpture.

This year our second annual Featured Artist Award was awarded to Lawrence artist Marilyn Horsch. Marilyn was selected earlier this year by a panel of judges comprised of former commissioned Lawrence ArtWalk graphic artists and the Lawrence ArtWalk Director. Her artwork appeared on this year's invitational postcard, poster and guide map, as well as this web site.

The Lawrence ArtWalk was a fabulous opportunity to meet several of the Lawrence area's finest artists, visit artists' studios that are not usually open to the general public and purchase locally produced art. If you missed us this year, we'll see you next year for the 13th annual Lawrence ArtWalk on October 27-28, 2007!
