Sandy approaches painting in the spirit of mindfulness, using the process of painting as a meditative practice. Her acrylic paintings feature bright, intense colors and reflect the joy and healing that she has experienced through art. She often cuts her paintings (pages) into pieces and arranges them into smaller compositions that capture the unexpected patterns and beauty of everyday life. These pieces
are either framed, made into note cards or collected in hand-made books. Sandy is a University of Kansas Law Professor and is currently recycling discarded legal periodicals into a series of altered books.
