Raised by a Jack Russell terrier, a willful horse and understanding parents, Catherine has centered her life on animals. When enthusiastically taking on commissions depicting human beings, her first instinct is to sculpt an animal that is realistic or fantastical. Her work is gestural, often impressionistic and always tries to evoke empathy for the subject matter.
