Over the past 20 or so years Deb has traveled throughout Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Vietnam, India, Guatemala and Ghana. She loves to drop down into the middle of daily life in places very different from her own home country, just to take a good, long look. Before photographing individuals or their property Deb asks permission, and she does not try to change a "no" to a "yes." No means no! People and their lives are colorful, according to Deb, and she resists the notion that people in foreign countries are 'local color.' Deb believes that genuine respect fosters peace in a powerful way, one person at a time, and she hopes this comes across in her photographs.
