OOPS, YOU MISSED LAWRENCE ARTWALK 2009!
Celebrating our 15th anniversary this year, the Lawrence ArtWalk
featured a two-day self-guided tour of Lawrence, Ks artists'
studios and other art spaces, and once again showcases the fabulous art created
by many of Douglas County's fine artists.
About 50 artists exhibited their incredible
artwork at 21 locations in and around Lawrence; and displayed work
in a wide variety of mediums including ceramics, digital art,
drawing, fiber, jewelry, mixed media (2-D), mixed media (3-D),
painting, photography and sculpture.
A Preview Exhibition, featuring samples of artists' work, was displayed in the weeks preceding the Lawrence ArtWalk at Wink
Eyewear in Downtown Lawrence. A public reception was held on September 19 to honor our
Featured Artist, Linda McKay, who signed posters featuring
her artwork, and to celebrate 15 years of ArtWalks.
