Susan started making glass beads in 2003 after
several years of making and selling jewelry, first from purchased beads and
then making her own fimo beads. She was initially self-taught but has now taken
classes from a number of top glass-bead makers. She loves exploring the nearly
limitless colors, designs and techniques involved in working with glass.
Opening her kiln each morning after making beads is like Christmas. Her husband
is fond of telling people that she likes to relax at her 2,000-degree torch!
Susan will have refreshments and live glass bead making demonstrations all
during the ArtWalk weekend (whenever someone wants a demo). She'll have beads,
pendants and jewelry incorporating her beads for sale, and invites you to come
and watch her melt glass! |
