The Kaw Valley Fiber Guild was first organized in 1971 as a group for amateur and professional weavers, spinners and fiber artists to share techniques and learn from each other. The group makes its art from anything that can be classified as a fiber material and makes wearables; wall hangings; accessories; linens; hand-dyed silk scarves and paintings; hand-spun yarn; woven, felted and knitted items and so much more.

The group's members exhibiting their work during Lawrence ArtWalk 2011 include Diane Buck, Nancy Haus, Dana Heim, Maryam Hjersted, Susan Hoisington, Cindy Hornberger, Jean Jack, Carol Leffler, b.f. McDonald, Leslie McLaughlin, Kelly Peterson, Diana Schoneweis and Regina Shaver.
