Sandy approaches painting in the spirit of mindfulness, using the process of painting as a
meditation practice. Her paintings feature bright, intense colors and reflect the joy and healing
that she has experienced through art. She incorporates transparent watercolors, acrylic paints,
Japanese lace papers and metallic accents into her mixed-media pieces. Sandy is a University of
Kansas Law Professor, who has also recycled discarded legal periodicals into a series of
altered books.
