Susan is a Professor in the Molecular Biosciences department at the University of Kansas but has
always had creative outlets. She started making glass beads in 2003, initially learning from
videos and books. Later, she had a wonderful opportunity to take classes from a number of top
glass-bead makers. She rarely gets as much time at the torch as she would like but relishes the
time she does get. Susan will have refreshments and live glass-bead-making demonstrations all
weekend (whenever someone wants a demo). She will have beads, pendants, and jewelry
incorporating her beads for sale, and invites you to watch her melt glass!
