Paula Freed, MS, ATR, is a Registered Art Therapist and an artist. She has explored the depths of the human psyche and the collective unconscious through painting, mixed media, and printmaking; and her early works included portraits and landscapes. Taking her inspiration from life, she sees through the superficial level to portray inner light and shadow. She has also challenged the limits of 2-D perception through the bold use of colors and a palette knife.

Paula's work has been exhibited in venues including Gallery One in Mendocino, California, and coffee houses in Lawrence, Kansas; and acquired for the collections of Bill and Susan Finlayson, Boog Highberger, Jim Wisler, and Dana Freed. Although she was born in Lawrence, she subsequently lived in Virginia Beach and Fort Bragg, California. She attended Fort Bragg on a full art scholarship and then completed her BFA at the University of Kansas in 1990. Her Master's was awarded by Eastern Virginia Medical School.
