Lawrence ArtWalk
2001, an ArtSpace Odyssey, was our seventh annual mission to
get you to go where most of you had not gone before, to promote
art space exploration in the nether regions of the Douglas County
galaxy, and to avail you of some of the finest, natural art resources
on Planet Lawrence! Artwork was on exhibit by over 50 Lawrence-area
visual artists and at several art galleries located at over 40
venues around town. And, best of all, our event was, as always,
free to the public!
Several Lawrence studios not normally accessible to the general
public were once again opened especially for the ArtWalk and
many artists offered special demonstrations of their craft. This
was a fabulous opportunity to discover some of the wonderful
artwork created by many of our talented artists, to meet them
in their creative work environments, and to purchase locally
produced art. Also, refreshments were available at many locations.
