A difficult
decade propelled Brou ("Brew") toward the
mantra, "The sun always rises." She creates
celestial assemblages, incorporating discarded objects
- a metaphor for hope and redemption - into embellished
wall hangings. With titles reflecting a wry sense
of humor, Brou's resulting "American Fine Folk
Art" has been described as "insightful;
strangely beautiful" and "embodying a fanciful
strength of spirit." |
