Artist Biographical Statement
I paint en plein air, informed by nature with an interest in the technical aspects of oil painting. A limited palette gives the artist opportunity to discover the nuances of mixing color. Painting from nature uses light to understand hue, value, contrast, and edges, the principles of painting. I like to manage flow of paint from color theory through the palette and finally on canvas. I use mindfulness I have learned in yoga practice from posture at the easel to meditation upon the subject matter, the light cast upon nature.
