Mixed media 2-D, print making & encaustic
Artist Biographical Statement
Taking a year for a spiritual quest, M Rose has reached a new instar-like stage. Photography has become her dominant media for this year while still developing a group collaborative installation and her own mixed media pieces. Her assemblages use found and recovered objects that have acquired a patina of time and symbolic meaning.
She has lived in Lawrence since 1971 when she went to KU to acquire Art and Art Education degrees. Since then she has worked as an artist and taught art for most of that time, retiring from teaching three years ago. She taught for 25 years in the Lawrence public schools and earlier taught art in the Seaman School District and Lawrence Arts Center.
